Privacy
Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the federal data-protection provisions (Data Protection Act, DSG), every person is entitled to protection of their privacy and to protection against misuse of their personal data. We comply with these provisions. Personal data are treated as strictly confidential and are neither sold nor passed on to third parties.
Working closely with our hosting providers, we do our best to protect the databases against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or falsification.
When our website is accessed, the following data are stored in log files: IP address, date, time, browser request and general information transmitted about the operating system or browser. These usage data form the basis for statistical, anonymous evaluations, so that trends can be recognised and we can improve our offering accordingly.
1. Contact for data-protection matters
If you have a data-protection concern, you can contact us at Afro Cuban Body Work, Militärstrasse 84, 8004 Zürich, info@afrocubanbodywork.com.
2. General information on data processing
Our processing of personal data is limited to the data required to provide a functioning website and our content and services. We collect only the personal data that are actually required to carry out and handle our tasks and services, or that you have provided to us voluntarily. Personal data are processed only for the purposes agreed with you, or where another legal basis exists.
3. Your rights
Every person has the right to information about the data stored about them. You have a right to information about all data relating to you that are held in a data collection, including where they come from, the purpose of the processing, the category of data processed, the parties involved in a data collection, and the persons and bodies to whom data are transmitted.
You also have a right to correction, blocking and deletion of your data. You have the right to withdraw consent once given for the use of your personal data at any time. Please note that we reserve the right to rely on the restrictions provided by law, for example where we are obliged to retain or process certain data, have an overriding interest in them (where we are entitled to rely on that), or need them in order to assert claims.
4. How long data are kept, and deletion
We process and store your personal data for as long as is required to fulfil our contractual and legal duties or otherwise the purposes of the processing, for example for the duration of the entire business relationship (from the start, through performance, to the end of a contract) and beyond that in line with statutory retention and documentation duties. Personal data may be kept for the period during which claims can be brought against our business, and where we are otherwise legally obliged to do so or legitimate business interests require it (for example for evidence and documentation). As soon as your personal data are no longer required for the purposes above, they are in principle deleted or anonymised where possible, and are no longer processed.

Cookies are small files that your browser creates automatically and stores on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone and so on) when you visit our website. When you visit again, we can recognise you, or your browser, even if we do not know who you are. The cookies remain stored until you delete them. This allows us to recognise your browser on the next visit. If you do not want this, you can set your browser to inform you when cookies are set and to let you allow them case by case. Disabling cookies can mean that you cannot use every function of our website.
6. Contact form
If you fill in a contact form, or send us an email or another electronic message, your details are stored only in order to handle the enquiry and any related follow-up questions, and are used only within that enquiry.

Privacy notice for the use of Facebook plugins (Like button)
Plugins of the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, are integrated on our pages. You can recognise the Facebook plugins by the Facebook logo or the “Like” button on our page. When you visit our pages, the plugin establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook thereby receives the information that you have visited our page with your IP address. If you click the Facebook “Like” button while logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our pages to your Facebook profile. Facebook can then associate the visit to our pages with your user account. We point out that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or of how Facebook uses them. Further information is in Facebook’s privacy policy. If you do not want Facebook to associate the visit to our pages with your Facebook account, please log out of your Facebook account.
Privacy notice for the use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web-analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, text files stored on your computer, which make it possible to analyse how you use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If IP anonymisation is activated on this website, Google shortens your IP address beforehand within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for the website operator, and to provide further services related to website and internet use. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law, or where third parties process the data on Google’s behalf. The IP address transmitted by your browser within Google Analytics is not combined with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being installed by a setting in your browser software; we point out that in that case you may not be able to use every function of this website in full. By using this website you agree to the processing of the data collected about you by Google in the manner described above and for the purpose named above.
Privacy notice for the use of Google +1
The Google +1 button lets you publish information worldwide. Through the Google +1 button you and other users receive personalised content from Google and its partners. Google stores both the information that you gave +1 to a piece of content and information about the page you were viewing when you clicked +1. Your +1s may appear as notices together with your profile name and photo in Google services, such as search results or your Google profile, or elsewhere on websites and advertisements on the internet. Google records information about your +1 activity in order to improve Google’s services for you and others. To use the Google +1 button you need a publicly visible, worldwide Google profile that contains at least the name chosen for the profile. That name is used in all Google services. In some cases this name can also replace another name you used when sharing content through your Google account. The identity of your Google profile can be shown to users who know your email address or have other identifying information about you. Besides the purposes explained above, the information you provide is used in accordance with the applicable Google privacy policy. Google may publish aggregated statistics about users’ +1 activity, or share those statistics with users and partners such as publishers, advertisers or connected websites.
